Marnie gradated with a Masters in Counselling Psychology from City University of Seattle and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. Her practice is informed by a compassionate, strength-based, and a collaborative approach. She draws from a variety of modalities and practices that incorporate mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), solution focused and cognitive behavioural therapy approaches. She believes that we all encounter challenges in our daily lives that can create a variety of thoughts and feelings that can have a negative impact and sometimes lead to feelings of stress, anxiety and isolation. Marnie seeks to provide a safe, respectful and supportive environment. Her goal is to work collaboratively to establish a therapeutic relationship with specific goals that are meaningful to the individual.
Outside of academics and the clinical field, Marnie has worked with youth extensively in the sports realm as a coach, instructor and mentor supporting them (and their parents!) in their athletic pursuits. For fun, Marnie enjoy spending time with her husband, her daughter and their lovely dog, Fin. As well, Marnie is a passionate distance runner, yoga enthusiast and Netflix nerd.
